The Sir John Johnson Manor House

Located on the shores of the Raisin River, in the quaint community of Williamstown sits one of Ontario's oldest standing homes. In 1784 Sir John Johnson was instrumental in resettling many Loyalists in what is now Ontario. Johnson himself built a home and mills on the river between 1784 and 1792.

​This Historic home is part of the original Century Farm established in 1784. The house was not lived in for a number of years but has been lovingly restored by the current owner, a descendent of the family who were given the Loyalist land grant.

This home was built in 2018 so it is the newest home on our tour. It is a modern  open concept family home with a traditional twist. The beautiful gardens in the front and lawns that extend  into farmers fields in the back give this village home a rural feel.

This home was built in 2008 and designed to replace an older unsalvageable home belonging to a Great Aunt.  The original 1800 barn remains. It's 2 story design with clapboard siding and covered entry blends well with its historic neighbors. The owners have renovated the upstairs to create more space which better suits their needs.

This 19th century home was featured in  Reader's Digest Canada (July 11 2016). Called "the basket girls' house" , farmers would bring baskets of harvest food in trade for their daughters' lodging while attending school across the road.  This country century home is filled with cozy character.
